To bridge the rift among the ruling constituents, Nepali Congress has agreed to leave the post of National Assembly President to the Maoist party. This step has been taken to save the alliance from breaking. Nepali Congress President Sherbahadur Deuva has said that the alliance will not be allowed to break because of the post of National Assembly President. In the meeting of office bearers on Saturday morning, Deuva agreed to give the post of National Assembly President to the Maoist Party. Also showed positive attitude on cabinet reshuffle. Prime Minister Prachanda's camp had been pressurizing to change some ministers since the completion of one year of the government. When it came to the breakdown of the alliance, the party was ready to change its ministers in the cabinet. Three leaders of the party are going to meet Prime Minister Prachanda with this message from Nepali Congress. Deuva has authorized Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, who is leading the government on behalf of Nepali Congress, Chief Whip of Parliamentary Party Ramesh Lekhak and former Minister Gyanendra Karki to talk to Prachanda. Before leaving from the party president's residence to the Prime Minister's residence, Gyanendra Karki told reporters that he would talk to the Prime Minister on every issue. Nepali Congress chief whip Ramesh Lekhak said that in the recently held General Committee meeting of the party, the decision to contest the next elections on its own without any alliance had led to a crisis of confidence with the Maoists. He said that the Congress party wants to make it clear to the Prime Minister that the decision is regarding the elections to be held after four years. At this time there is a need to give continuity to the present alliance.
